WeSort.AI GmbH is a high-tech start-up from Würzburg that is revolutionizing recycling through artificial intelligence and is thus making a significant contribution to the urgently needed circular economy. Our deep learning systems enable both granular analysis and sorting of, for example, electronic waste and various plastics. In 2023, we were one of six start-ups nationwide to be awarded the prestigious Founders' Prize plus from the Federal Ministry of Economics (BMWK) for our systems. In 2024, we received the next major award as one of the winners of the German Founders' Prize, initiated by Stern, Sparkasse, ZDF and Porsche.

This is your new passion

Holistic and independent development and shipment of AI models to the customer using our existing data pipeline as well as improvement and extension of existing models
Data acquisition, support in annotation processes
Further development of data and training pipelines as well as our data workspace
Design of AI algorithms (architectures, training procedures, etc.), hyperparameter optimization as well as measurement and implementation of performance-enhancing measures
Software-side implementation of AI algorithms in Python with PyTorch
Development of interfaces and integration of algorithms in real-time applications
Management and maintenance of cloud training environment and data pipeline (Microsoft Azure)
Technology stack: Python, PyTorch, PyTorch-Lightning, Azure-ML, Docker, Jupyter notebooks, etc.
Technology scouting and active participation in technology decisions
Work in autonomous Scrum teams in flat hierarchies with plenty of room to help shape things
Collaboration in agile processes with colleagues as well as national and international partners and customers.

Willingness to travel to customers and desire to develop the team on site

You inspire us

Preferred qualifications

5 years of proven experience in the development of complex software projects
At least 3 years of professional experience in the development and shipment of AI algorithms in the field of computer vision
Experienced in the independent development of software projects
Master's degree or PhD in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, mechanical engineering or a related field
Practical experience in the development of real-time applications and the integration of AI algorithms
Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and cloud training environments, preferably with Microsoft Azure

Minimum qualifications

Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking as well as a goal-oriented way of working
Several years of professional experience in the development and implementation of AI models and algorithms.
Proven professional experience in the development and shipment of AI algorithms in the field of computer vision
In-depth knowledge of Python and PyTorch as well as experience with PyTorch-Lightning and Jupyter notebooks.
